Basketball Game Preview: Madison Mohawks vs. Preble Shawnee Arrows

The Madison Mohawks and the Preble Shawnee Arrows will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

On Friday, Madison ended up a good deal behind Franklin and lost 59-42. While losing is never fun, the Mohawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 722nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Preble Shawnee). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Tri-County North 67-38. The victory was familiar territory for the Arrows who have now won four matchups in a row.

Preble Shawnee is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Madison, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Madison came up short against Preble Shawnee in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 53-47. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
