Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Local Takes a Loss

Buckeye Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Martins Ferry Purple Riders, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Purple Riders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Buckeye Local was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Martins Ferry's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-10, 25-17.

Jenna DelVecchio paced Buckeye Local's offense, picking up six kills. DelVecchio got some help from Karlie Lander and her seven assists. Lander and DelVecchio didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Buckeye Local's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Martins Ferry, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Buckeye Local has already played their next contest (against Cambridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Martins Ferry also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Brooke.
