Basketball Recap: Kennedy Piles Up the Points Against DMLK

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Kennedy's strategy against DMLK on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Kennedy Commanders blew the DMLK Panthers out of the water with a 56-15 final score. The Commanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kennedy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 boards. Williams has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Keana Venegas-Alvarez was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven steals and six assists.

When it comes to explaining why DMLK lost, don't look at Ashley Rodriguez. Despite the final result, she posted seven points. That was a full 46.7% of DMLK's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Kennedy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for DMLK, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Kennedy will host Dakota Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DMLK, they will head out to challenge DSST: Conservatory Green at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
