Cristo Rey is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Franklin Academy on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cristo Rey had to suffer through a 66-32 loss at the hands of Franklin Academy. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-15.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-41 victory over the Bulls.

Archbishop Carroll's win came from a few key players Cristo Rey will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Angel Marquez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daniel Pazo, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Archbishop Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Cristo Rey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
