Basketball Recap: Madison Dragons vs. Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs
Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs 49-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-24 last Thursday.
Madison's loss came despite strong showings from Lexi Jackson and Salena Duinkerken. Jackson posted nine points, while Duinkerken put up seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 35% of Madison's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Bella Duinkerken also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Humphrey-Lindsay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Faith Korth led the charge by putting up nine points along with eight boards and five assists. That's the most rebounds Korth has posted since back in December of 2024. Claire Korth was another key player, earning 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Madison has already played their next game, a 38-36 victory against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on the 3rd. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-37 loss against West Point-Beemer on the 3rd.
