Basketball Recap: Fishers Comes Up Short

Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Fishers had to settle for second. They lost to the Hamilton Southeastern Royals on the road by a 46-30 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Royals are ranked first).

Nevaeh Dickman was Fishers' leading scorer, having posted ten points. Allison Scheu held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Maya Makalusky continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hamilton Southeastern, going 7 of 17 to rack up 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Makalusky has scored at least a third of Hamilton Southeastern's points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Holman, who posted 11 points.

Fishers' loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Hamilton Southeastern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 23-0.

Fishers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they have already played their next match, a 59-40 win against Zionsville on the 7th.
