Basketball Recap: Reeltown Takes a Loss

Reeltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 52-16 defeat at the hands of the Lanett Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-14 on January 9th.

Lanett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MaKiah White, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 11 points in addition to six boards and six blocks. White is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted four or more in the last three games she's played. MiKyla McCants was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Reeltown's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Lanett, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Reeltown has already played their next game (against Holtville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lanett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
