Baseball Recap: Tradition Prep Drops Season-High Score on Calvary Chapel Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tradition Prep). They blew past the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles 16-5 on Thursday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jack Greene made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tradition Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-1 otherwise. Greene was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sebastian Garcia was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Zayden Hernandez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Tradition Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory got Tradition Prep back to even at 5-5-1. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Tradition Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Bayside on the 28th. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 12-2 defeat against Palm Bay on the 1st.
