Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln vs. Marshall

Lincoln is 0-10 against Marshall since December of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lincoln Tigers will host the Marshall Barristers at 4:30 p.m. Lincoln's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lincoln is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Santee back in December of 2024. Lincoln fell just short of Santee by a score of 2-1.

Lincoln's goal came courtesy of Joseph Waters, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Marshall's good fortune finally ran out last Saturday. They fell just short of Palisades by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Barristers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Dolphins are ranked 26th).

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Lincoln suffered a grim 7-3 defeat to Marshall in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lincoln was down 4-0.
