Football Recap: Chase Lyons' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pieper over Davenport

Pieper blew Davenport out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Davenport got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 47-44. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Lyons, who threw for 361 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another rusher making a difference was Brady Hopper, who gained 109 total yards and two touchdowns.

Barrett Fallon was a one-man wrecking crew For Davenport. as he rushed for 206 yards and four scores. Fallon's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards dating back to last season. Davenport also relied on Gage Hunter, who's 53-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

Pieper now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Davenport, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Pieper wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 48-13 victory against Wagner on the 19th. As for Davenport, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 win against Del Rio on the 19th.
