Volleyball Recap: Greer Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Adison Howard and Sophia Petrillo

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Greer can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Wren Hurricanes on Monday. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-16.

Sophia Petrillo and Adison Howard certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Petrillo had 23 digs, while Howard had 14 digs. Petrillo has been hot, having posted 21 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Wren was led to victory by Libby Claire Yarborough and Rilyn Johnson. Yarborough had 12 digs and two aces, while Johnson had seven digs and one assist. That's the most aces Yarborough has posted since back in September.

Greer dropped their record down to 21-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wren, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 28-6-1.

Greer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wren, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against York on the 29th.
