Basketball Recap: Hughes Springs Comes Up Short

Hughes Springs lost against Jefferson back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hughes Springs Mustangs had to suffer through a 87-28 loss at the hands of the Jefferson Bulldogs. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Hughes Springs has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Jefferson, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Hughes Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-41 defeat against New Diana on the 14th. As for Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-48 win against Chapel Hill on the 14th.
