Basketball Recap: Lakecrest Baptist's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Lakecrest Baptist unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Bethany Christian 52-46. Lakecrest Baptist was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bethany Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Bethany Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luca Halalau, who posted 19 points along with six assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Byers, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points.

Lakecrest Baptist's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Bethany Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Lakecrest Baptist will take on Springfield Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bethany Christian, they will head out to face off against Faith Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bethany Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.
