Softball Recap: County Line Comes Up Short

If County Line was feeling good fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Western Yell County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians lost 13-3 to the Greenland Pirates on Friday. The Indians have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

County Line saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tavilynn Fortenberry, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Fortenberry hit this season.

County Line's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Greenland, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. County Line will challenge Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenland, they will face off against Providence Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
