Soccer Game Preview: South Bend Saint Joseph vs. Mishawaka Marian

The South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies will face off against the Mishawaka Marian Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

South Bend Saint Joseph is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand South Bend Riley an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for South Bend Saint Joseph, who have now won four contests in a row.

Their offense was hitting South Bend Riley from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Mishawaka Marian made easy work of New Prairie on Tuesday and carried off a 7-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Mishawaka Marian's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while New Prairie are ranked 203rd).

Mishawaka Marian's win bumped their record up to 9-4-2. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

South Bend Saint Joseph couldn't quite get it done against Mishawaka Marian when the teams last played back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
