Recap: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. North Rowan Cavaliers

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Corvian Community Cardinals can now relate to. They took a hard 49-34 fall against North Rowan on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Best, who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Best was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Connor Frey was in the mix as well, providing Corvian Community with two touchdowns.

It was another big night for Jaemias Morrow, who rushed for 251 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.2 yards per carry. Morrow hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Alford, who threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Rowan's defensive line and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Yasir Wactor and Daniel Montes Medrano who racked up four sacks between them.

Corvian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for North Rowan, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Corvian Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Rowan will stay at home for another week and welcome Mountain Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Mountain Heritage's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matches.
