Soccer Game Preview: Tharptown vs. Madison Academy

The Tharptown Wildcats will square off against the Madison Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Tharptown is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Clements get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Madison Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Athens 6-0. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 2.8 goals per game.

Their offense was hitting Athens from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Alex Crider led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Madison Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for Tharptown, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Tharptown took their victory against Madison Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. Does Tharptown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madison Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
