There's no place like home for Portsmouth West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Waverly Tigers 4-3. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Portsmouth West saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Pitts, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Portsmouth West's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Waverly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Portsmouth West will challenge Gallia Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Waverly, they will face off against Chillicothe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
