Softball Recap: Strawberry Crest Takes a Loss

Strawberry Crest managed to slip by Plant the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Strawberry Crest Chargers came up short against the Plant Panthers on Tuesday, falling 14-8. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Ava Cater made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kennedy Shea also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Cater wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Strawberry Crest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Strawberry Crest's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Plant, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Strawberry Crest will venture away from home to take on Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Strawberry Crest has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Plant, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Alonso at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Plant's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
