Flag Football Game Preview: Scripps Ranch Falcons vs. Granite Hills Eagles

The Scripps Ranch Falcons will head out to square off against the Granite Hills Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Scripps Ranch will be strutting in after a victory while Granite Hills will be coming in after a loss.

Scripps Ranch barely beat San Diego the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 33-8 margin over the Cavers on Thursday. Considering the Falcons have won six matchups by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of Scripps Ranch's win came down to the chemistry between Kennedy McCabe and her top target Lexi Hare. McCabe threw for 137 yards and five TDs while completing 90% of her passes while Hare picked up 112 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Those four receiving touchdowns gave Hare a new career-high.

Scripps Ranch didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nikhya Ash and Khyla Adams.

Meanwhile, Granite Hills was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 32-27 to Grossmont. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Foothillers: they've now lost five in a row.

Scripps Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games. As for Granite Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Scripps Ranch ended up a good deal behind Granite Hills in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, losing 20-6. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
