Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Sparta Academy had won two straight home games and Kaitlyn Johnson did her part to make it three on Monday. The Sparta Academy Warriors strolled past the Snook Christian Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 41-27 thanks in part to Johnson, who posted 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Hildreth, who had two points in addition to nine steals and six boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Sparta Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points per game. As for Snook Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Sparta Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jackson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Snook Christian Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge South Baldwin Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
