The Kirtland Hornets will be playing at home against the Brush Arcs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kirtland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Kirtland owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They beat Grand Valley by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-0.
The result came thanks to Gino Blasini's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Luciano Cantini was excellent, going 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler Turk, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Brush fell victim to a tough 12-4 defeat at the hands of Benedictine on Friday.
Kirtland's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Brush, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
