It was a good run, but Cornerstone Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Calvary Baptist Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Cornerstone Christian had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Christian lost, don't look at Kaylee Galyon. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and two assists. Galyon has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Calvary Baptist was led to victory by Aubrey Gelskey and Kaylin Crewse. Gelskey had 18 digs and one assist, while Crewse had 12 digs. That's the most digs Crewse has posted over her last 11 matchups.

Cornerstone Christian's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Calvary Baptist, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Cornerstone Christian and Calvary Baptist should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Crusaders will square off against The Grove School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (429 vs. 1191). Meanwhile, Calvary Baptist (ranked 479th) will meet Bethel Christian (ranked 1318th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
