Baseball Recap: Harriton's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Harriton's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Penncrest Lions a 3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 back in March.

Not much got past Sam Bohnenkamp, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Penncrest off the board. Harriton is undefeated when Bohnenkamp posts eight or more strikeouts, but 0-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bryce Siegel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

With the win, Harriton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Penncrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Harriton and Penncrest will both be playing Springfield the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will host them at 4:00 p.m. on the 12th.
