Football Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Atlantic Coast Stingrays. The Generals were not able to make up for their loss to the Stingrays from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Atlantic Coast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amerikus Aguilar, who threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of her passes. Those two passing touchdowns gave Aguilar a new career-high.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Atlantic Coast, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Riverside will square off against Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Generals 10.8, the Golden Eagles 9.1) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Atlantic Coast, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 19-6 loss against ED White on the 8th.
