Recap: Goffstown Grizzlies vs. Manchester Memorial Crusaders
The Goffstown Grizzlies won the last time they faced the Manchester Memorial Crusaders, and things went their way on Friday too. Goffstown skirted past Manchester Memorial 31-28. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Goffstown has scored all year.
Manchester Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was NyAsia McKelvey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. McKelvey scored a full 35.7% of Manchester Memorial's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Avery Jenkins, who scored eight points.
Goffstown's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Manchester Memorial, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Goffstown will be playing in front of their home fans against Concord at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Concord is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Manchester Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Salem at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Manchester Memorial in New Hampshire (Salem is ranked ninth, while Manchester Memorial is ranked 59th).
