Baseball Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Knights vs. Anthony Wayne Generals

The St. Francis de Sales Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Anthony Wayne Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Francis de Sales will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Clay, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Thursday.

Not much got past Tommy Woycik, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Clay off the board.

At the plate, Drew Tucker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Gabe Lisowski also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

St. Francis de Sales hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Anthony Wayne came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Trojans. Anthony Wayne's victory was all the more impressive since the Trojans were averaging only 2.57 runs allowed on the season.

St. Francis de Sales' record is now 6-3. As for Anthony Wayne, their record now sits at 4-1.

St. Francis de Sales was able to grind out a solid win over Anthony Wayne in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
