South Anchorage and Bettye Davis East Anchorage are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2022, but not for long. The Wolverines will face off against the Thunderbirds at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

South Anchorage is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Dimond just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Lynx. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered against the Lynx since November 10, 2023.

Meanwhile, it was a classic East v. West duel when Bettye Davis East Anchorage challenged West Anchorage on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds blew past the Eagles 3-0. The Thunderbirds not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Bettye Davis East Anchorage's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9. As for South Anchorage, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.

Everything went South Anchorage's way against Bettye Davis East Anchorage in their previous meeting back in August, as South Anchorage made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
