Palm Desert had won five straight games and Paul Dreisbach did his part to make it six on Thursday. The Aztecs came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 54-49 W against the Beaumont Cougars thanks in part to Dreisbach, who posted 24 points in addition to five boards and three steals. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Jake Brande, who put up seven points along with eight rebounds and six assists. He has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played.

Palm Desert's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Beaumont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Palm Desert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-44 win against Heritage on the 12th. As for Beaumont, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will be up against the Bison's rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
