Basketball Recap: Wahconah Regional Comes Up Short

Wahconah Regional lost against Agawam back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wahconah Regional Warriors took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Agawam Brownies. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Brownies are ranked 68th).

Wahconah Regional dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points over those games. As for Agawam, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Coming up, Wahconah Regional will take on East Longmeadow at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Agawam, they will challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
