Volleyball Recap: Ariana Kearney Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat North Gaston + How To Watch

Bandys not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the North Gaston Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

One reason for the win was Bandys' just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-8.

Bandys' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ariana Kearney led the charge by getting 18 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Kearney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Paysour, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Bandys was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive games.

The victory got Bandys back to even at 6-6. As for North Gaston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bandys will venture away from home to face off against Bunker Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for North Gaston, they will face off against Forestview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
