Preview: McKinley Panthers vs. Broadmoor Buccaneers
McKinley is 5-0 against Broadmoor since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The McKinley Panthers will be playing at home against the Broadmoor Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McKinley has five straight wins, Broadmoor has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, McKinley beat Belaire 22-14.
Meanwhile, Broadmoor fell victim to West Feliciana's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 57-0 defeat at the hands of the Saints. While losing is never fun, Broadmoor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 260th, while West Feliciana is ranked 100th).
McKinley's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Tara and 2-7 Belaire (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37% over those games). As for Broadmoor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for McKinley against Broadmoor when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 57-0 win. Does McKinley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Broadmoor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
