It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Puckett had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the West Lincoln Bears get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Wilkes Carter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Puckett got a massive performance out of Matt Rankin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mj Parker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Puckett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Puckett is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for West Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Puckett beat West Lincoln by a score of 11-1 on Saturday.
