Andrew Wiggins is the ultimate procrastinator.
No other Top 10 basketball or football recruit in recent memory has waited quite this long to make a decision on his college choice.
But Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. EST, the high-flying 6-foot-8 wing from
Huntington Prep (W. Va.), who is projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, will finally announce his choice.
His four finalists are Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina.
Here are 10 other highly dramatic announcements from the prep ranks over the past five years that have kept the national media wondering. {PAGEBREAK}

Recruiting rank: No. 7
Signed with: Notre Dame
Before there were make-believe girlfriends, and all the ugly hoopla that went around that story, Te'o made a huge splash heading into college by picking Notre Dame and then-head coach Charlie Weis over USC. Most considered the Trojans a lock, but he picked the arch-rival Irish at the last moment. Te'o went on to have a highly decorated career in South Bend before being drafted in the second round by the San Diego Chargers last month. {PAGEBREAK}

Ranked: No. 1

On a live national broadcast, Barnes picked the Tar Heels over arch-rival Duke in a decision that drew the buzz of not only the state, but the nation. Barnes had an illustrious year at Ames, where his teams went 53-0 his final two seasons. He averaged 26.1 points, 10 rebounds, 3.1 assists and three steals his senior campaign before embarking on a two-year college run for the Tar Heels. He was the No. 1 pick of the Golden State Warriors and No. 7 selection overall of the 2012 NBA Draft and now is living up to his billing. {PAGEBREAK}

8. Arik ArmsteadSchool: Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, Calif.)Year: 2012
Ranked: No. 16
Signed with: Oregon
An early verbal commit to USC, Armstead began to look around due to issues his brother Armond experienced during his senior season with the Trojans. He then ruled out the Trojans and was considered a lock to sign with Cal. But Tosh Lupoi's departure to Washington just days before Armstead was expected to announce altered his plans to enroll early. Notre Dame and Auburn entered the fray but in the end, the 6-foot-8, 280-pound defensive lineman went to the Ducks. {PAGEBREAK}

7. Jamarkus McFarlandSchool: Lufkin (Texas)Year: 2009
Ranked: No. 15
Signed with: Oklahoma
McFarland's recruitment ranks among the most well-covered of all-time, as New York Times writer Thayer Evans chronicled his experience. Evans documented a now-controversial school essay that McFarland wrote, which discussed a party he attended thrown by Texas Longhorns fans. McFarland committed to Oklahoma on Christmas morning, a gift to Sooners fans that left an awful taste in the mouths of Texas fans.{PAGEBREAK}

The No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2012, Kiel made waves by verbally committing to in-state Indiana over the summer. He later backed off that pledge and narrowed his choices to LSU, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. While many anticipated an announcement on Christmas Eve, his decision to attend LSU did not come until Dec. 27. Kiel was set to enroll early at LSU but had second thoughts the day before classes started. He enrolled at Notre Dame the very next day, stunning Tigers fans.{PAGEBREAK}

Ranked: No. 1

The nation's No. 1 recruit, Henderson's recruitment was closely guarded. He made his decision on the set of CBS Sports Network by selecting a USC jersey, breaking from the standard hat selection. However, for Henderson, the fun was just beginning. He didn't sign with USC until March 23, six weeks after National Signing Day. Following NCAA sanctions against USC, Henderson received a release from his National Letter of Intent and enrolled at Miami in the summer, five months after he first donned the Trojans jersey. {PAGEBREAK}

Ranked: No. 1
Signed with: Ohio State
Likely the most drawn-out recruitment ever, Pryor held a press conference on National Signing Day to announce that he was not ready to announce his decision between Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon. Hype around Pryor peaked with a Pennsylvania man creating a Pryor replica action figure. Finally, on March 19, after his state title-winning basketball season ended, Pryor committed to Ohio State, citing his level of comfort with the coaching staff and players. {PAGEBREAK}

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)Year: 2012
Ranked: Nos. 1 and 2
Signed: Kentucky and UCLA
The nation's top two players waited all the way until the Jordan Brand Classic in New York to announce their schools in a made for TV special. Noel reclassified from 2013 to 2012 and picked the Wildcats. He averaged 10.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.4 blocks in his 24 games for Kentucky before an ACL tear of his left knee ended his season early. He still declared for the 2013 draft and is considered a sure lottery pick. Muhammad averaged 17.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in his freshman season at UCLA and was named first-team All-Pac-12. He also declared for the NBA Draft after just one season.
