Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Thomas Edwards and Nyisah Miranda Lead Avon to Victory

It was a proper cat-fight when Avon faced off against Tri-County RVT on Friday. The Avon Panthers came out on top against the Tri-County RVT Cougars by a score of 62-52. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Leading Avon to victory were Nyisah Miranda and Thomas Edwards. Miranda dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten assists, while Edwards posted 22 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Miranda's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Guillaume, who had five points and four steals.

Avon's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Tri-County RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Westport at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tri-County RVT, they will face off against St. John Paul II at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
