LEAP Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-7 to the Bridgeton Bulldogs. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked the Lancers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Yanathan Bernard and Jarrett Archie stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bernard scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Archie scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Iyzhus Abreu was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

LEAP Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Bridgeton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, LEAP Academy will venture away from home to face off against Wildwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bridgeton, they will welcome Middle Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
