Softball Recap: Silverdale Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to 25

Silverdale Academy entered their tilt with Boyd-Buchanan on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They had just enough and edged out the Buccaneers 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on April 1st.

Not much got past Airebis Cox, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Boyd-Buchanan off the board. Cox has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emry Masterson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Silverdale Academy's win was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Coming up, Silverdale Academy will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Soddy Daisy at 5:00 p.m. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Seahawks surely won't give up without a fight. Boyd-Buchanan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
