Basketball Recap: Ollie Boot's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wellborn over Ohatchee

Wellborn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 80-66 to the Ohatchee Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-42 back in December of 2024.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ollie Boot, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 26 points and six assists. That's the most assists Boot has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was De'Andreaz Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards.

Wellborn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Ohatchee, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9.

Wellborn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-72 loss against Jacksonville Christian Academy on the 31st. Ohatchee has also already played their next match, a 68-56 defeat against Piedmont on the 3rd.
