Baseball Recap: St. John Paul II Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

St. John Paul II Academy and Saint Andrew squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but St. John Paul II Academy had to settle for second. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Scots. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Scots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

St. John Paul II Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Scotty Crowe, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

St. John Paul II Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-11-1. As for Saint Andrew's, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-6.

While St. John Paul II Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
