Preview: Cabot Panthers vs. Central Tigers
Cabot is 1-9 against Central since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cabot Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The pair were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.
Cabot suffered their closest loss since November 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Bryant by a score of 51-48. While losing is never fun, Cabot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Bryant is ranked first).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Central's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bryant by a score of 52-50. The game was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but Central couldn't quite close it out.
Cabot's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Central, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-5.
