Basketball Game Preview: Stone Bridge Bulldogs vs. Independence

Stone Bridge and Independence are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Stone Bridge Bulldogs just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome Independence at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Stone Bridge is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They took an 84-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of Loudoun Valley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (65), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). They put the hurt on Lightridge with a sharp 78-53 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Independence has posted since January 11, 2024.

Stone Bridge better keep an eye on Mason Ogburn. He was instrumental in Independence's win, going 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Ogburn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Christian Ratliff, who went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points.

Stone Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
