Preview: Murray Tigers vs. Carlisle County Comets
Murray is 9-1 against Carlisle County since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Murray Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Carlisle County Comets at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Murray was able to grind out a solid win over Graves County, taking the game 43-36.
Even though Carlisle County has not done well against Mayfield recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Carlisle County strolled past Mayfield with points to spare, taking the game 69-51.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carlisle County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Burnett, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zack Grogan, who scored 13 points.
Murray's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Carlisle County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Everything went Murray's way against Carlisle County in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Murray made off with a 78-57 win. Will Murray repeat their success, or does Carlisle County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
