Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dekaney). They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Nimitz Cougars on Monday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Cougars are ranked 530th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dekaney has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. Nimitz has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11-3 record this season.
