Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. Paradise Panthers

Valley View is 0-8 against Paradise since December of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Valley View Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Paradise Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Valley View is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They took a blow against Whitesboro, falling 62-31. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1201st, while the Bearcats are ranked 319th).

Valley View's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zane Reynolds, who posted ten points and seven rebounds, and Aaron Epperson, who had five points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Paradise unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 65-56 to Whitesboro. The Panthers were down 51-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Paradise's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-6. As for Valley View, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Valley View was dealt a bruising 77-18 defeat at the hands of Paradise in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Valley View was down 37-8.
