Basketball Recap: Fairmont Takes a Loss

Fairmont lost against Elder back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fairmont Firebirds fell to the Elder Panthers 49-44. The Firebirds were up 25-9 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Fairmont has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Elder, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Fairmont has already played their next game, a 52-47 loss against Centerville on the 28th. As for Elder, they will face off against Archbishop Moeller at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
