Baseball Game Preview: Chariton Chargers vs. Centerville Big Reds/Redettes

The Chariton Chargers will face off against the Centerville Big Reds/Redettes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chariton has nine straight wins, Centerville has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Chariton earned an 8-4 victory over Fairfield.

Meanwhile, Centerville didn't have quite enough to beat Albia on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Chariton's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
