Softball Recap: Mar Vista Comes Up Short

Mar Vista fell victim to Calexico and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Mariners' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mar Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Calexico, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Coming up, Mar Vista will challenge Madison at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.1 runs per game on average), something the Mariners will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Calexico, they will take on Brawley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
