Softball Recap: McNairy Central Find Success

McNairy Central won the last time they faced Kossuth and things went their way on Tuesday too. The McNairy Central Bobcats came out on top against the Kossuth Aggies by a score of 11-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Bailee Shelton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Shelton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlee Shelton, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Callie Finlayson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.

McNairy Central's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Kossuth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, McNairy Central will face off against Milan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Milan's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Kossuth, they will square off against McNairy Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
