            Softball Preview: Highland Park Hornets vs. West Texas Comanches        
        
		
        
        
            Highland Park is on  a three-game streak of home losses, and West Texas a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck  on Wednesday. The Highland Park Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Texas Comanches  at 11:00  a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Highland Park came up short against  Gruver on Tuesday, falling  19-12.

 Kaitlin Lucas put in work while hitting and pitching. She  struck out nine batters over  5.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and 12 unearned) runs off   two  hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  firing off two  home runs, seven  RBI,  and three  runs while going 4-for-4. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  J'Niyah Hearn and  Aaliyah Robinson stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Hearn  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-5, while  Robinson  scored a  run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave  Robinson a new career-high in  doubles (two). Another player making a difference was  Joeli Neusch, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 Even though they lost, Highland Park  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in four consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Texas' offense. They lost  14-0 to Childress on Tuesday. The  game marked the first time this year in which the Comanches were not able to get on the board.
 Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for West Texas, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
