Basic is a perfect 4-0 against Bishop Gorman since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolves will welcome the Gaels at 6:00 p.m. Basic will be strutting in after a victory while Bishop Gorman will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Basic beat Rancho 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Basic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-20, 25-8, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman faced Somerset Sky Pointe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Gaels lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The Gaels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Bishop Gorman was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.

Basic pushed their record up to 23-10 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bishop Gorman, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Basic was able to grind out a solid win over Bishop Gorman in their previous matchup on April 7th, winning 3-1. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Gaels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
